Peat based raw materials of BVB Substrates 

BVB substrates supply a wide product range of raw material peat moss products as well. Besides the ready to use mixtures we are able to send acid white peat, brown peat, black peat and sod peat to professional nurseries, landscaping companies or any other company worldwide.

These products are packaged in 150L, 200L or bigbales (up to 6 M3 per bale). Sphagnum moss peat belongs to this group raw materials as well

Sphagnum moss

Sphagnum can be described as the youngest material, not or little decomposed. Dry sphagnum can absorbs a lot of water. This product is common used in orchid mixtures. But also used for reptile bedding and as decorative enhancement.

We offer 3 grades of sphagnum, namely: fine, 2cm and coarse. Fine and 2cm sphagnum material is compressed in 35kg bales. Coarse sphagnum material is compressed in 5kg bales. These products are treated and free from weeds

Sphagnum planters

Planters are compressed sphagnum moss used to hold a cutting or seedling. When water is added the sphagnum expands and support the cutting or seed in the tray

Peatmoss

also known as white peat or sphagnum peat. This material is horizontally extracted (milled peat) from the toplayer of the peat package, and is the youngest  material, little decomposed and have a light brown color compared to the other peat products. It can retain at least nine time its own weight on water.

Brown peat – also known as transitional peat. The layer between white and black peat. This type  is composed more compared to white peat.

We supply pure peatmoss in various grades. Packaged in 150L, 200L or bigbales (up to 6 M3 per bale). With or without pH correction. More additives required for a specific cultivations, please look at link or contact us

Sod peat fractions

Vertically extracted peat, cut and screened in various fractions. Mainly used for coarse and airy potting soils.

We supply these sod peat in various grades. Packaged in 150L, 200L or bigbales (up to 6 M3 per bale). With or without pH correction. More additives required for a specific cultivations, please look at link or contact us
