Packaging options
Depending on your cultivation, logistics and purchase volume, there are various ways to package and deliver substrates. At BVB Substrates, we offer options in individual packaging, growbags, big bags, big bales and bulk. This ensures that the substrate is well suited to your situation.
Bulk deliveries
Is your company located in the Netherlands or in areas near the border in the surrounding countries? Then it is possible to deliver substrates in bulk directly to your location. Especially for this type of delivery we have the most diverse ways of transportation:

Individual packaging
We are able to deliver products in many different sizes of packaging due to our modern packaging lines. The size of the bags can vary from 3 to 70 liters a piece. We stack the individual bags on wooden pallets and wrap them in waterproof shrink sleeves. This makes the stack more stable and ensures an hygienic way of transportation. This way we can guarantee the quality of the substrates over longer periods of time.
We can deliver substrate in many different sizes, here’s a short list of possibilities:
• 15 liter > 156 bags per pallet : 80 x 120 cm
• 45 liter > 51 bags per pallet : 80 x 120 cm
• 70 liter > 36 bags per pallet : 80 x 120 cm
Growbags
Does your company cultivate vegetable or soft fruit crops? If so, our growbags offer a practical and efficient packaging solution. These growbags are filled with a tailor-made substrate blend and are ready to use in your cultivation system.
Growbags are used for crops such as tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, as well as for soft fruit cultivation, including strawberries and raspberries. They integrate seamlessly with various materials such as rockwool blocks or pressed pots.
Thanks to our specialised packaging line, we produce growbags mechanically in a range of configurations. Dimensions, planting holes and drainage openings are fully tailored to the needs of your business and cultivation system.
Big Bags & Big Bales
Is your company located outside the Netherlands? Then we offer the option of receiving substrates in big bags. This type of packaging is available in volumes of up to 2.3 EN m3, depending on the weight of the raw materials.
In addition, your company can opt for delivery in big bales. This way of packaging is most fitting for efficient long distance shipping. A number of customers now experience this way of packaging as a very flexible and relatively inexpensive alternative. Due to the large number of possibilities of our packaging machines we can offer you the freedom to choose to order big bales with a volume ranging from EN 2.25 m3 to 5 EN m3. To break up the substrate in the big bales, we can provide a big bale dosage bunker.
Compressing the product, which happens to create the big bales, makes it possible to load more volume on one pallet. This means a lot can be saved on packaging and transport costs. Another additional advantage is that big bales are completely watertight. This way the quality of the product remains well guaranteed even during longer storage.
